McNamara Park, South Australian Historic Road Race Championships 2025

A few pics from the RR championships and my trackside camping. I broke with my usual practice of riding to SA and drove this time. (Thus permitting some luxuries such as a fridge, stove, standup tent, stretcher etc, which enabled self catering instead of buying food at the circuit.

Like many others I had incorrectly assumed that the event was running from Friday (qualifying) to Sunday (racing) as usual. However, due to the fall of Christmas Day on Thursday the event changed with Saturday being a track day and then qualifying on Sunday morning, and the racing on Sunday afternoon and Monday. Consequently, there was a huge infux of competitors to the trackside camping area late on Saturday. The temp for Monday was forecast to be 38C, so I actually left late on Sunday for my 4.5 hour drive home.

Trackside campsite early Friday afternoon. By Saturday evening the area was packed.
